but ye have not hearkened,H8085 nor inclinedH5186 your earH241 to hear.H8085 5 They said,H559 Turn ye againH7725 now every oneH376 from his evilH7451 way,H1870 and from the evilH7455 of your doings,H4611 and dwellH3427 in the landH127 that the LORDH3068 hath givenH5414 unto you and to your fathersH1 forH5704 everH5769 and ever:H5769 6 And goH3212 not afterH310 otherH312 godsH430 to serveH5647 them, and to worshipH7812 them, and provoke me not to angerH3707 with the worksH4639 of your hands;H3027 and I will do you no hurt.H7489 7 Yet ye have not hearkenedH8085 unto me, saithH5002 the LORD;H3068 that ye might provoke me to angerH3707 with the worksH4639 of your handsH3027 to your own hurt.H7451 8 Therefore thus saithH559 the LORDH3068 of hosts;H6635 Because ye have not heardH8085 my words,H1697 9 Behold, I will sendH7971 and takeH3947 all the familiesH4940 of the north,H6828 saithH5002 the LORD,H3068 and NebuchadrezzarH5019 the kingH4428 of Babylon,H894 my servant,H5650 and will bringH935 them against this land,H776 and against the inhabitantsH3427 thereof, and against all these nationsH1471 round about,H5439 and will utterly destroyH2763 them, and makeH7760 them an astonishment,H8047 and an hissing,H8322 and perpetualH5769 desolations.H2723 10 Moreover I will takeH6 from them the voiceH6963 of mirth,H8342 and the voiceH6963 of gladness,H8057 the voiceH6963 of the bridegroom,H2860 and the voiceH6963 of the bride,H3618 the soundH6963 of the millstones,H7347 and the lightH216 of the candle.H5216 11 And this whole landH776 shall be a desolation,H2723 and an astonishment;H8047 and these nationsH1471 shall serveH5647 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 seventyH7657 years.H8141 12 And it shall come to pass, when seventyH7657 yearsH8141 are accomplished,H4390 that I will punishH6485 the kingH4428 of Babylon,H894 and that nation,H1471 saithH5002 the LORD,H3068 for their iniquity,H5771 and the landH776 of the Chaldeans,H3778 and will makeH7760 it perpetualH5769 desolations.H8077 13 And I will bringH935 upon that landH776 all my wordsH1697 which I have pronouncedH1696 against it, even all that is writtenH3789 in this book,H5612 which JeremiahH3414 hath prophesiedH5012 against all the nations.H1471 14 For manyH7227 nationsH1471 and greatH1419 kingsH4428 shall serveH5647 themselves of them also: and I will recompenseH7999 them according to their deeds,H6467 and according to the worksH4639 of their own hands.H3027 15 For thus saithH559 the LORDH3068 GodH430 of IsraelH3478 unto me; TakeH3947 the wineH3196 cupH3563 of this furyH2534 at my hand,H3027 and cause all the nations,H1471 to whom I sendH7971 thee, to drinkH8248 it. 16 And they shall drink,H8354 and be moved,H1607 and be mad,H1984 becauseH6440 of the swordH2719 that I will sendH7971 among them. 17 Then tookH3947 I the cupH3563 at the LORD'SH3068 hand,H3027 and made all the nationsH1471 to drink,H8248 unto whom the LORDH3068 had sentH7971 me: 18 To wit, Jerusalem,H3389 and the citiesH5892 of Judah,H3063 and the kingsH4428 thereof, and the princesH8269 thereof, to makeH5414 them a desolation,H2723 an astonishment,H8047 an hissing,H8322 and a curse;H7045 as it is this day;H3117 19 PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of Egypt,H4714 and his servants,H5650 and his princes,H8269 and all his people;H5971 20 And all the mingledH6153 people, and all the kingsH4428 of the landH776 of Uz,H5780 and all the kingsH4428 of the landH776 of the Philistines,H6430 and Ashkelon,H831 and Azzah,H5804 and Ekron,H6138 and the remnantH7611 of Ashdod,H795 21 Edom,H123 and Moab,H4124 and the childrenH1121 of Ammon,H5983 22 And all the kingsH4428 of Tyrus,H6865 and all the kingsH4428 of Zidon,H6721 and the kingsH4428 of the islesH339 which are beyondH5676 the sea,H3220 23 Dedan,H1719 and Tema,H8485 and Buz,H938 and all that are in the utmostH7112 corners,H6285 24 And all the kingsH4428 of Arabia,H6152 and all the kingsH4428 of the mingled peopleH6153 that dwellH7931 in the desert,H4057 25 And all the kingsH4428 of Zimri,H2174 and all the kingsH4428 of Elam,H5867 and all the kingsH4428 of the Medes,H4074 26 And all the kingsH4428 of the north,H6828 farH7350 and near,H7138 oneH376 with another,H251 and all the kingdomsH4467 of the world,H776 which are upon the faceH6440 of the earth:H127 and the kingH4428 of SheshachH8347 shall drinkH8354 afterH310 them. 27 Therefore thou shalt sayH559 unto them, Thus saithH559 the LORDH3068 of hosts,H6635 the GodH430 of Israel;H3478 DrinkH8354 ye, and be drunken,H7937 and spue,H7006 and fall,H5307 and riseH6965 no more, becauseH6440 of the swordH2719 which I will sendH7971 among you. 28 And it shall be, if they refuseH3985 to takeH3947 the cupH3563 at thine handH3027 to drink,H8354 then shalt thou sayH559 unto them, Thus saithH559 the LORDH3068 of hosts;H6635 Ye shall certainlyH8354 drink.H8354 29 For, lo, I beginH2490 to bring evilH7489 on the cityH5892 which is calledH7121 by my name,H8034 and should ye be utterlyH5352 unpunished?H5352 Ye shall not be unpunished:H5352 for I will callH7121 for a swordH2719 upon all the inhabitantsH3427 of the earth,H776 saithH5002 the LORDH3068 of hosts.H6635 30 Therefore prophesyH5012 thou against them all these words,H1697 and sayH559 unto them, The LORDH3068 shall roarH7580 from on high,H4791 and utterH5414 his voiceH6963 from his holyH6944 habitation;H4583 he shall mightilyH7580 roarH7580 upon his habitation;H5116 he shall giveH6030 a shout,H1959 as they that treadH1869 the grapes, against all the inhabitantsH3427 of the earth.H776 31 A noiseH7588 shall comeH935 even to the endsH7097 of the earth;H776 for the LORDH3068 hath a controversyH7379 with the nations,H1471 he will pleadH8199 with all flesh;H1320 he will giveH5414 them that are wickedH7563 to the sword,H2719 saithH5002 the LORD.H3068 32 Thus saithH559 the LORDH3068 of hosts,H6635 Behold, evilH7451 shall go forthH3318 from nationH1471 to nation,H1471 and a greatH1419 whirlwindH5591 shall be raised upH5782 from the coastsH3411 of the earth.H776 33 And the slainH2491 of the LORDH3068 shall be at that dayH3117 from one endH7097 of the earthH776 even unto the other endH7097 of the earth:H776 they shall not be lamented,H5594 neither gathered,H622 nor buried;H6912 they shall be dungH1828 uponH6440 the ground.H127 34 Howl,H3213 ye shepherds,H7462 and cry;H2199 and wallowH6428 yourselves in the ashes, ye principalH117 of the flock:H6629 for the daysH3117 of your slaughterH2873 and of your dispersionsH8600 are accomplished;H4390 and ye shall fallH5307 like a pleasantH2532 vessel.H3627 35 And the shepherdsH7462 shall have no wayH4498 to flee,H6 nor the principalH117 of the flockH6629 to escape.H6413 36 A voiceH6963 of the cryH6818 of the shepherds,H7462 and an howlingH3215 of the principalH117 of the flock,H6629 shall be heard: for the LORDH3068 hath spoiledH7703 their pasture.H4830 37 And the peaceableH7965 habitationsH4999 are cut downH1826 becauseH6440 of the fierceH2740 angerH639 of the LORD.H3068 38 He hath forsakenH5800 his covert,H5520 as the lion:H3715 for their landH776 is desolateH8047 becauseH6440 of the fiercenessH2740 of the oppressor,H3238 and becauseH6440 of his fierceH2740 anger.H639
