And EdomH123 saidH559 unto him, Thou shalt not passH5674 by me, lest I come outH3318 againstH7125 thee with the sword.H2719

And the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 saidH559 unto him, We will goH5927 by the high way:H4546 and if I and my cattleH4735 drinkH8354 of thy water,H4325 then I will payH5414, H4377 for it: I will only, without doing any thingH1697 else, go throughH5674 on my feet.H7272

And he said,H559 Thou shalt not go through.H5674 And EdomH123 came outH3318 againstH7125 him with muchH3515 people,H5971 and with a strongH2389 hand.H3027

Thus EdomH123 refusedH3985 to giveH5414 IsraelH3478 passageH5674 through his border:H1366 wherefore IsraelH3478 turned awayH5186 from him.
