Have ye not cast outH5080 the priestsH3548 of the LORD,H3068 the sonsH1121 of Aaron,H175 and the Levites,H3881 and have madeH6213 you priestsH3548 after the manner of the nationsH5971 of other lands?H776 so that whosoever comethH935 to consecrateH4390, H3027 himself with a youngH1241, H1121 bullockH6499 and sevenH7651 rams,H352 the same may be a priestH3548 of them that are noH3808 gods.H430

But as for us, the LORDH3068 is our God,H430 and we have not forsakenH5800 him; and the priests,H3548 which ministerH8334 unto the LORD,H3068 are the sonsH1121 of Aaron,H175 and the LevitesH3881 wait upon their business:H4399

And they burnH6999 unto the LORDH3068 every morningH1242 and every eveningH6153 burnt sacrificesH5930 and sweetH5561 incense:H7004 the shewbreadH4635 alsoH3899 set they in order upon the pureH2889 table;H7979 and the candlestickH4501 of goldH2091 with the lampsH5216 thereof, to burnH1197 every evening:H6153 for we keepH8104 the chargeH4931 of the LORDH3068 our God;H430 but ye have forsakenH5800 him.

And, behold, GodH430 himself is with us for our captain,H7218 and his priestsH3548 with soundingH8643 trumpetsH2689 to cry alarmH7321 against you. O childrenH1121 of Israel,H3478 fightH3898 ye not against the LORDH3068 GodH430 of your fathers;H1 for ye shall not prosper.H6743

But JeroboamH3379 caused an ambushmentH3993 to comeH935 aboutH5437 behindH310 them: so they were beforeH6440 Judah,H3063 and the ambushmentH3993 was behindH310 them.

And when JudahH3063 looked back,H6437 behold, the battleH4421 was beforeH6440 and behind:H268 and they criedH6817 unto the LORD,H3068 and the priestsH3548 soundedH2690 with the trumpets.H2689

Then the menH376 of JudahH3063 gave a shout:H7321 and as the menH376 of JudahH3063 shouted,H7321 it came to pass, that GodH430 smoteH5062 JeroboamH3379 and all IsraelH3478 beforeH6440 AbijahH29 and Judah.H3063

And the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 fledH5127 beforeH6440 Judah:H3063 and GodH430 deliveredH5414 them into their hand.H3027

And AbijahH29 and his peopleH5971 slewH5221 them with a greatH7227 slaughter:H4347 so there fell downH5307 slainH2491 of IsraelH3478 fiveH2568 hundredH3967 thousandH505 chosenH977 men.H376

Thus the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 were broughtH3665 under at that time,H6256 and the childrenH1121 of JudahH3063 prevailed,H553 because they reliedH8172 upon the LORDH3068 GodH430 of their fathers.H1

And AbijahH29 pursuedH7291 afterH310 Jeroboam,H3379 and tookH3920 citiesH5892 from him, BethelH1008 with the townsH1323 thereof, and JeshanahH3466 with the townsH1323 thereof, and EphrainH6085 with the townsH1323 thereof.

Neither did JeroboamH3379 recoverH6113 strengthH3581 again in the daysH3117 of Abijah:H29 and the LORDH3068 struckH5062 him, and he died.H4191
