21:1
The wordH1697 which came unto JeremiahH3414 from the LORD,H3068 when kingH4428 ZedekiahH6667 sentH7971 unto him PashurH6583 the sonH1121 of Melchiah,H4441 and ZephaniahH6846 the sonH1121 of MaaseiahH4641 the priest,H3548 saying,H559
21:2
Enquire,H1875 I pray thee, of the LORDH3068 for us;H1157 for NebuchadrezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 maketh warH3898 against us; if so be that the LORDH3068 will dealH6213 with us according to all his wondrous works,H6381 that he may go upH5927 from us.
21:3
Then saidH559 JeremiahH3414 unto them, Thus shall ye sayH559 to Zedekiah:H6667
21:4
Thus saithH559 the LORDH3068 GodH430 of Israel;H3478 Behold, I will turn backH5437 the weaponsH3627 of warH4421 that are in your hands,H3027 wherewith ye fightH3898 against the kingH4428 of Babylon,H894 and against the Chaldeans,H3778 which besiegeH6696 you withoutH2351 the walls,H2346 and I will assembleH622 them into the midstH8432 of this city.H5892
21:5
And I myself will fightH3898 against you with an outstretchedH5186 handH3027 and with a strongH2389 arm,H2220 even in anger,H639 and in fury,H2534 and in greatH1419 wrath.H7110
21:6
And I will smiteH5221 the inhabitantsH3427 of this city,H5892 both manH120 and beast:H929 they shall dieH4191 of a greatH1419 pestilence.H1698
21:7
And afterward,H310 saithH5002 the LORD,H3068 I will deliverH5414 ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of Judah,H3063 and his servants,H5650 and the people,H5971 and such as are leftH7604 in this cityH5892 from the pestilence,H1698 from the sword,H2719 and from the famine,H7458 into the handH3027 of NebuchadrezzarH5019 kingH4428 of Babylon,H894 and into the handH3027 of their enemies,H341 and into the handH3027 of those that seekH1245 their life:H5315 and he shall smiteH5221 them with the edgeH6310 of the sword;H2719 he shall not spareH2347 them, neither have pity,H2550 nor have mercy.H7355
21:8
And unto this peopleH5971 thou shalt say,H559 Thus saithH559 the LORD;H3068 Behold, I setH5414 beforeH6440 you the wayH1870 of life,H2416 and the wayH1870 of death.H4194
21:9
He that abidethH3427 in this cityH5892 shall dieH4191 by the sword,H2719 and by the famine,H7458 and by the pestilence:H1698 but he that goeth out,H3318 and fallethH5307 to the ChaldeansH3778 that besiegeH6696 you, he shall live,H2421 and his lifeH5315 shall be unto him for a prey.H7998
21:10
For I have setH7760 my faceH6440 against this cityH5892 for evil,H7451 and not for good,H2896 saithH5002 the LORD:H3068 it shall be givenH5414 into the handH3027 of the kingH4428 of Babylon,H894 and he shall burnH8313 it with fire.H784
21:11
And touching the houseH1004 of the kingH4428 of Judah,H3063 say, HearH8085 ye the wordH1697 of the LORD;H3068
21:12
O houseH1004 of David,H1732 thus saithH559 the LORD;H3068 ExecuteH1777 judgmentH4941 in the morning,H1242 and deliverH5337 him that is spoiledH1497 out of the handH3027 of the oppressor,H6231 lest my furyH2534 go outH3318 like fire,H784 and burnH1197 that none can quenchH3518 it, becauseH6440 of the evilH7455 of your doings.H4611
21:13
Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitantH3427 of the valley,H6010 and rockH6697 of the plain,H4334 saithH5002 the LORD;H3068 which say,H559 Who shall come downH5181 against us? or who shall enterH935 into our habitations?H4585
21:14
But I will punishH6485 you according to the fruitH6529 of your doings,H4611 saithH5002 the LORD:H3068 and I will kindleH3341 a fireH784 in the forestH3293 thereof, and it shall devourH398 all things round aboutH5439 it.
