και^G2532 And εγένετο^G1096 there was άνθρωπος^G444 man εις^G1520 one εξ^G1537 from Αρμαθαϊμ Ramathaim Σοφίμ Zophim εξ^G1537 of όρους^G3735 mount Εφραϊμ Ephraim, και^G2532 and όνομα αυτώ^G3686 his name Ελκανά was Elkanah, υιός^G5207 son Ιεροάμ of Jeroham, υιόυ^G5207 son Ηλιού of Elihu, υιόυ^G5207 son Θωκέ of Tohu, υιόυ^G5207 son Σωφ Zuph εξ^G1537 from όρους^G3735 mount Εφραϊμ Ephraim.

και^G2532 And τούτω^G3778 to this one was δύο^G1417 two γυναίκες^G1135 wives; όνομα^G3686 the name τη^G3588 to the μία^G1520 one Άννα was Hannah, και^G2532 and όνομα^G3686 the name τη^G3588 to the δευτέρα^G1208 second Φεννάνα was Peninnah. και^G2532 And ην there was τη^G3588 Φεννάνα to Peninnah παιδία^G3813 a child, και^G2532 and τη^G3588 Άννη to Hannah ουκ ην^G3756 there was no παιδίον^G3813 child.

και^G2532 And ανέβαινεν^G305 ascended ο^G3588 άνθρωπος^G444 man εκείνος^G1565 that εξ^G1537 from ημερών^G2250 days εις^G1519 to ημέρας^G2250 days εκ^G1537 from out of πόλεως αυτού^G4172 his city εξ^G1537 of Αρμαθαϊμ Ramathaim προσκυνείν^G4352 to do obeisance και^G2532 and θύειν^G2380 to sacrifice τω^G3588 to the κυρίω^G2962 lord Σαβαώθ^G4519 of Hosts εν^G1722 in Συλώ Shiloh. και^G2532 And εκεί^G1563 there ην was Ηλί Eli και^G2532 and οι^G3588 δύο^G1417 two υιοί^G5207 sons αυτού^G1473 his, Οφνί Hophni και^G2532 and Φινεές Phinehas, ιερείς^G2409 priests του^G3588 of the κυρίου^G2962 lord.

και^G2532 And εγένετο^G1096 came to pass ημέρα^G2250 a day και^G2532 that έθυσεν Ελκανά^G2380 Elkanah sacrificed, και^G2532 and έδωκε^G1325 he gave τη^G3588 Φεννάνα to Peninnah γυναικί αυτού^G1135 his wife, και^G2532 and πάσι^G3956 to all τοις^G3588 υιοίς αυτής^G5207 her sons, και^G2532 and ταις^G3588 to θυγατράσιν αυτής^G2364 her daughters, μερίδας^G3310 portions.

και^G2532 And τη^G3588 Άννη to Hannah έδωκε^G1325 he gave μερίδα^G3310 portion μίαν^G1520 one, ότι^G3754 for ουκ ην^G3756 there was no αυτή παιδίον^G1473 child to her; πλην^G4133 except ότι^G3754 that την^G3588 Άνναν ηγάπα^G25 loved Hannah Ελκανά Elkanah υπέρ^G5228 above Πεννάναν Peninnah. και^G2532 But κύριος^G2962 the lord απέκλεισε^G608 locked τα^G3588 the matter περί^G4012 concerning την^G3588 μήτραν αυτής^G3388 her womb.

και^G2532 And παρώργισεν αυτήν^G3949 provoked her to anger η^G3588 αντίζηλος αυτής^G1473 her rival, και^G2532 and γε^G1065 even παροργισμώ^G3950 a provocation to anger διά^G1223 because of το^G3588 the εξουθενείν αυτήν^G1848 treating her with contempt, ότι^G3754 for συνέκλεισε κύριος^G4788 the lord closed up τα^G3588 the matters περί^G4012 concerning την^G3588 μήτραν αυτής^G3388 her womb του^G3588 μη^G3361 to not δούναι^G1325 give αυτή^G1473 to her παιδίον^G3813 a child.

ούτως^G3779 Thus εποίει^G4160 she did ενιαυτόν^G1763 year κατ΄^G2596 by ενιαυτόν^G1763 year εν^G1722 in τω^G3588 αναβαίνειν αυτήν^G305 her ascending εις^G1519 unto οίκον^G3624 the house κυρίου^G2962 of the lord; και^G2532 and ηθύμει^G120 she was depressed, και^G2532 and έκλαιε^G2799 she wept, και^G2532 and ουκ^G3756 did not ήσθιε^G2068 eat.

και^G2532 And είπεν^G2036 said αυτή^G1473 to her Ελκανά Elkanah ο^G3588 ανήρ αυτής^G435 her husband, Άννα Hannah, τι^G5100 what έστι is it σοι^G1473 to you ότι^G3754 that κλαίεις^G2799 you weep? και^G2532 And ινατί^G2444 why ουκ^G3756 do you not εσθίεις^G2068 eat? και^G2532 And ινατί^G2444 why does τύπτει^G5180 beat σε^G1473 you η^G3588 καρδία σου^G2588 your heart? ουκ^G3756 not αγαθός^G18 good εγώ^G1473 Am I σοι^G1473 to you υπέρ^G5228 over δέκα^G1176 ten τέκνα^G5043 children?

και^G2532 And ανέστη Άννα^G450 Hannah rose up μετά^G3326 after το^G3588 φαγείν αυτούς^G2068 their eating εν^G1722 in Συλώ Shiloh, και^G2532 and μετά^G3326 after το^G3588 πιείν^G4095 drinking. και^G2532 And Ηλί Eli ο^G3588 the ιερεύς^G2409 priest εκάθητο^G2521 sat επί^G1909 upon του^G3588 the δίφρου chair επί^G1909 at των^G3588 the φλιών doorposts ναού^G3485 of the temple κυρίου^G2962 of the lord.
