W Księdze Rodzaju w rozdziale 20 (I Mojż 20) możemy przeczytać jak Abraham okłamał Króla Abimelecha o tym że Sara nie jest jego żoną tylko jego siostrą. Z tego powodu Abimelech wziął ją da Haremu. Wynikiem tego wszystkie kobiety w domu Abimelecha stały się bezpłodne dopóki Sara nie została zwrócona Abrahamowi. Abraham modlił się o dom Abimelecha i kobiety zostały uzdrowione. Tak naprawdę jednak Abraham nie skłamał gdyż Sara był naprawdę jego siostrą tyle że z innego ojca (I Mojż 20:17-18).
